What is the difference between a material and an assignment in Google Classroom?
Material is basically a content related to a Subject / Topic. Where no action is usually required by the student. You could say the notes that a teacher shares with the students. Whereas assignments are content where a teacher asks a student to do something.
How do I see student submissions on blackboard?
Viewing Submitted Assignments
- Find the appropriate Grade Center column for the assignment – it will match the name you gave the assignment.
- Click on the down arrow after the name for that grade center item (on the student’s row), and then choose the Attempt Date menu item to view the submission details.

How do students upload to Blackboard?
To upload your assignment, go down to the “attach file” section and click on the “Browse my computer” button. Locate your assignment that you’ve created and edited select, and open. Your file name will appear in the attached file section along with the link title.
Can students download material from Google classroom?
To download, click the three dots in the upper right and select “open in new window”. When it opens in the new window, you will see the download icon in the upper right. This will allow you to download the document.
Can students edit a returned assignment in Google Classroom?
Return work or download grades. Students can’t edit any files attached to an assignment until you return it. Students can view their grades when you return their assignments. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.
Why won’t Google Classroom let me post an assignment?
If students have NOT begun: You will need to also delete the assignment on CommonLit for all classes, reassign it on CommonLit, and then repost it to Google Classroom. If students have begun: Email [email protected] and ask us to unlink the assignment from Google Classroom so you can share it to Google again.
