Morzine is a great place for beginner skiers! The Morzine-Les Gets ski area consists largely of wide gentle pistes which are perfect for people learning to ski. There are nursery slopes at the top of the Pléney bubble which leaves from the centre of Morzine.

I’d say you’re looking at 15-20 minutes or so to get to the bottom of the Prodains lift. Timetable suggests 10 minutes from the the Pleney lift to Rond-Point des Meuniers, and from there it’s about 5/10 minutes to the prodains lift.

I would say, if you feel you have exhausted Morzine/Les Gets, then yes it is worth the trip to Avoriaz. It is higher so slopes are generally in better condition. And if you are pretty good, there are some good blacks there. But, it can be thronged, especially in poor conditions, because everyone gravitates there.

Where is Prodains?
The Prodains cable car runs from the small hamlet of Les Prodains, around 5 kilometres from Morzine, up to the resort of Avoriaz which is perched on a cliff above the valley. Since Avoriaz is a car-free resort, the Prodains lift provides one of the main accesses into town.
