How long does it take to go through Marengo Cave?
Marengo cave is open all year long and offers two different walking tours. The Dripstone Trail tour covers 1 mile of the cave and takes approximately 60–70 minutes to complete. The Crystal Palace tour takes 35–40 minutes to complete and covers one third mile of the cave.

Are the Marengo Caves open?
Marengo Cave is open year round. We offer both Tent/RV sites as well as four camping cabins. Camping cabins are available for groups with two weeks notice and scheduled activities.

Which Marengo Cave tour is better?
The crystal cave tour seemed shorter and “safer” for the elderly. The dripstone tour was my favorite buy there are more narrow passages, I’m 5″4″ and hit my head at one spot. But it’s so much better than the other tour imho.

Is Squire Boone Caverns handicap accessible?
The cave is not handicapped-accessible and is entered down a series of steps. But Groves said that anyone, of any age, who can walk without difficulty should be able to tour the cave. Three other caves in southern Indiana – Marengo Cave, Squire Boone Caverns and Bluespring Caverns – also offer cave tours.
Are dogs allowed in Marengo Cave?
Small dogs may be taken inside the cave if carried during the entire tour. All pets are welcome on park grounds (outside the cave), but must remain on a leash.
