What do you look for in a language analysis?
Analysis refers to how the writer conveys meaning through language techniques, such as figures of speech, sentence structure, tone and word choice. When analysing language you must show that you are aware of how it is written. This means identifying the language features used and explaining their effect.
Is Chronological a text structure?
Chronological: These texts organize events in the order they happened. This structure is common in current events, history and in works of fiction or memoir. Key words include time markers like “first,” “next,” “then” and “finally.”
How do you analyze text structures?
When you analyse the structure of sentences, you can discuss the following elements:
- The sentence length (if it is particularly short or particularly long).
- The first or last word of the sentence (if they are noticeable for a particular reason).
