Why are cup sizes different?
Your bra size has a sister size. Your bra sister size can hold a similar volume of breast tissue in the cups. And, sister sizing is why two different bra sizes may fit. We mentioned above that the cup size increases when the band size increases – though the cup size remains the same letter cup size.
Why do different bra brands fit differently?
Same system, different scales While most lingerie brands use ‘cup and band’ sizing eg 14C, 12DD, they actually use different scales for each size. This means one brands 14C can measure very differently to another brands 14C. It’s a simple impossibility that you will be one size across a range of brands.

Why are my breasts two different cup sizes?
Many girls and women do. If you have just started developing breasts, one breast may grow more quickly than the other. This difference in breast size may even out. But it’s also perfectly normal for breasts to be different sizes even when they’re fully developed.
Is E cup the same as DD?
A DD is a cup size smaller than an E (assuming you kept the same band size i.e and 32DD is smaller than a 32E). DDD is where it gets confusing, some brands don’t run that size (here in the U.K., anyway) so a DDD would be equivalent to an E.
